WINTER IN VANCOUVER: December - March
In the winter, Vancouver and Whistler turn into a skier's dream. The skiing at Whistler, and Grouse Mountain can be considered phenomenal. This snow however, does not spread down to all of Vancouver. Vancouver experiences some slush, and very few snow falls. Temperatures can range from an average low of 2 degrees C (36F) in the winter and most of Vancouver's rain occurs during October and continues through to March. The mountain peaks stay snow covered from November until May and give visitors, and locals a beautiful sight to see each morning. You will find Christmas decorations and lights around the city during this season, but remember to take an umbrella during winter months.
What to wear:
You should bring warm sweaters, cotton long sleeved tops, jeans, warm cozy pajamas, and a big warm jacket. Bring wool socks, scarves, gloves, and boots as well.
SPRING IN VANCOUVER: April - June
Enjoy wine festivals, shopping bargains, outdoor festivities for all to enjoy, and gorgeous cherry blossomed lined streets. Spring occurs from April until June and it a refreshing season after a long winter. Visitors come to enjoy golf, snowboarding, skiing, picnics in Stanley Park and more. If you like to go to a new place when it is quiet, there aren't many tourists during this season. Gardens are flourishing with new flowers, but it isn't warm enough to hit the beach and tan. The weather can still be unpredictable, so keep your umbrella with you when you go out.
What to wear:
You can pack cotton long sleeved shirts, light sweaters, jeans, running shoes, jean jackets, cotton jackets, boots, high heels, and skirts. You will still need warm socks in this season.
SUMMERTIME IN VANCOUVER: July - September
Summer is the best season that Vancouver has to offer. it is filled with events like the HSBC Celebration of Light and the Molson Indy Vancouver. English Bay, Kitsilano Beach, and Wreck Beach are just some of the top beaches that will be packed with tourists, and locals. Known as the City of Summer Festivals, Vancouver will definitely have something going on when you visit. The weather tops at around 26 degrees C (90F) in the summer. You can go in the ocean, and sun tan on the beach during these months.
What to wear:
You should bring bathing suits, light summer dresses, a cardigan for cooler evenings, sun glasses, jeans, shorts, sandals, high heels, sun block, t-shirts, tank tops, and forget the umbrella!
FALL INTO VANCOUVER: October - December
Fall in Vancouver only lasts for approximately 2-3 months. You will see amazing trees on every street with colorful red, and orange leaves. It begins to cool down from the summer and the temperature ranges from 10 - 20 degrees. Fall welcomes visitors with it's operas, theatre launches, NHL hockey, and museum exhibitions. The fall can still be dry, and warm, an it is a great time to get a flight to Vancouver, as the airfares drop at this time.
What to wear:
It's a good idea to bring cotton sweaters, dress shirts, one heavier sweater, long sleeved shirts, boots, running shoes, an umbrella, and a light jacket.
