Bars and Pubs in Vancouver

By , About.com Guide

Vancouver’s bar and pub industry has become more relaxed over the last few years. Before diners would only be able to have drinks if they were also purchasing a meal. Now, people can order a beer or a cocktail and relax in some of the hippest restaurants. Bars now stay open until 2 am and sometimes 4 am in the summer.

Trendy Yaletown is one of the fanciest and safest areas to party in. Granville Street, Pender and Water Street in Gastown aren’t always the best choices if you’re looking for fancy fun. If you want a pub crawl, Granville Street and Water Street are the best choice. Yaletown is the type of place where people drink and dine and some of the restaurants turn into lounges after 11 at night.

Brew Bars

If you’re looking for the best brewpubs then head to the Yaletown Brewery in Yaletown or The Dockside Brewing Company on 1253 Johnson Street. Call them at 604-685-7070 for more information. It is located in the Granville Island Hotel.

Bars with a View

Vancouver is known for its fabulous views and Vancouverites and visitors are attracted to this city for its many scenic opportunities. Check out the Lift Bar and Grill in Coal Harbour or dine at the Cloud 9 Restaurant for amazing views of the North Shore and City lights.

Lesbian and Gay Bars

While its known that same sex couples can get married in Canada, Vancouver also has a thriving gay nightlife and club scene. Head to Celebrities, Numbers, or just stroll down Davie Street to find a hot spot. If you need more information on the nightlife then go to the Gay and Lesbian Transgendered Bisexual Community Centre located at 1170 Bute Street off of Davie Street or call 604-684-5307.
