Ride on the new Canada Line and get to and fro from downtown to Richmond within 25 minutes tops! The Canada Line is 19 kilometres long and it connects Richmond Centre and the Vancouver International Airport to Downtown Vancouver.

This great addition to Vancouver's transportation system comes four months ahead of schedule and it adds 16 transit stations to Vancouver transportation system. It opened August 17th, 2009. Travelers and locals can make their way from Waterfront Station (Downtown Vancouver) to the airport (YVR) or Richmond-Brighouse Station within 25 minutes. What a fabulous convenience!

About Richmond-Brighouse Station

Attractions Close By Richmond-Brighouse Station include Minoru Park, Richmond Cultural Centre, Richmond City Hall, and Richmond Centre Mall. This station is the beginning of the Canada Line that heads Northbound. There are buses to many Richmond locations and Steveston just outside the station.

The Canada Line Schedule

During the peak times, trains arrive every four minutes and during non-peak times every six minutes. Trains arrive every 10 minutes after 11 PM.

-Waterfront Station to Richmond-Brighouse Station runs daily from 5:32 AM to 1:15 AM.

-Waterfront Station to Vancouver International Airport runs daily from 4:50 AM to 1:05 AM.

-Richmond-Brighouse Station to Waterfront Station runs daily from 5:05 AM to 12:48 AM.

-Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Waterfront Station runs daily from 5:15 AM to 12:57 AM.


-For cyclists and pedestrians there is a new crossing on the Canada Line with special lanes that link Vancouver and Richmond. Cyclists can access the bridge south of Marine Drive Station, or through Van Horne Way in North Richmond. There is now a two way lane that is under the rail guideway of the Canada Line that crosses over the Northern arm of popular Frasier River.

-Visit the Olympic Athlete's Village for the 2010 Olympic Games, Granville Island, False Creek, and Science World at Olympic Village Station.

-If you get off at the Yaletown - Roundhouse Station then make sure you visit David Lam Park, GM Place(Vancouver Canucks), Edgewater Casino, BC Place (BC Lions), and the Plaza of Nations.

-If you get off at the Vancouver City Centre Station visit the Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver Centre Malls and Pacific Centre, The University of BC, Vancouver Public Library, the Orpheum Theatre and tons of restaurants, shops and movie cinemas.

-If you get off at Waterfront Station then make sure you stop by Simon Frasier University's Harbour Centre, Gastown, Canada Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre.
