The Van Dusen Gardens is gorgeous in every season in Vancouver. Van Dusen Botanical Garden offers 55 acres of scenic garden to its visitors. There is a living museum of plants collected from all over the globe. This attraction is only 15 minutes from downtown and always populated with locals, and visitors.

Van Dusen Botanical Garden opens up at 10am every morning. Named one of the top attractions in Canada in 2005 by Where Magazine, this garden will take your breath away. Over 100 events take place in this garden every year such as the Annual Vancouver Garden Show and the horticultural club shows.

Vancouver has such a mild climate so plants can bloom in this garden all year round. There is an event called the Festival of Lights and the date and times are below:

Dates and Times
4:30 to 9 p.m. every night, December 11th, 2009 through January 3rd, 2010, except December 25th when the Garden is closed.

NOTE: In the case of heavy snow storms or other extraordinary weather conditions: please call the Garden Shop 604-257-8665 to confirm that the Festival of Lights has not been closed for that one evening.

Highlights:

Dancing Lights on Livingstone Lake: starting at 4:30 p.m. Two different shows - one show on the half hour and a different one at the top of the hour. Two different shows repeating in sequence throughout the evening.

Santa's Living Room: Dec. 11th to the 24th with Santa appearances 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm, 8:30 pm.
