Vancouver SnowfallDoes it snow in Vancouver? Yes, though only occasionally. Today, the city center received its first major snowfall of the year.

But despite the slushy roads and snow-heavy trees, Vancouver is actually the third least-snowy place in Canada according the Environment Canada Weather Office.

Minimal snow is a trend in many BC coastal areas. Eleven BC communities top the list for having the least number of snow days. And the list of cities with the lowest snowfall looks similar.

How much does it snow in Vancouver? The average annual snowfall is 48.2 cm. The snowiest months are historically December and January, each with about 16 cm of snowfall.

You'll need warm layers in Vancouver during winter, but just as important is a good umbrella -- it was January, 1968 when the city received 134.6 mm of rain in one day.
