It's opening weekend in Whistler, turning the quiet Village Stroll into a mix of people ducked under umbrellas and smiling skiers carrying gear. The mountain was scheduled to open Nov. 22 (and Blackcomb will be closed until then), but instead select Whistler runs opened a few days early on Nov. 17.
November is a fantastic time to seize on some cheaper hotel deals. Rates go up (and up) from the holidays through school breaks.
