Learn about great Stanley Park activities for travelers with kids

A long-time favorite for those traveling to Vancouver with children has closed. And whether you have kids or not, take note of this as a reminder that things do change. Always check in advance to ensure an attraction you've read or heard about is still in business, along with possible changes in opening times and prices.

The petting zoo in Stanley Park (known as the "Children's Farmyard") was popular with locals and travelers because it provided something that's becoming increasingly rare: a chance for children to interact with small farm animals.

Nonetheless, due to city budget cuts -- blame the recent recession -- the Vancouver Park Board had to trim somewhere, so the zoo animals got their pink slips. Park employees say the animals will go to appropriate farms around the region.

So what are now great activities for children in Vanccouver's Stanley Park? View my picks here.
